another day in the office

What you see above was the lunch menu for the past two days.
I have resolved to pack lunch for most of the workdays now in an attempt to save more for the upcoming Clipper Race. The “additional” monies will help cover the cost (totaling to many many zeros) of international flights (UK, Australia and California), berthing fees, overseas crew insurance, accommodation, equipment, clothing and food outside of the race and training.
As a self-proclaimed food connoisseur (like many Singaporeans), this is a painful sacrifice to make. A friend reminded me of the popular saying, “no pain, no gain”, what is a “little” financial burden as compared to an experience of a lifetime? Though I have yet to start training, packed sandwiches is definitely a small price to pay in light of the experiences to come. (at least there’s egg, cheese and ham in there)
